I have decided

I am keeping this blog but only to show you my amateur pictures.  I bought myself the Canon 40D a couple years ago - I was tire of getting blurry and yucky pictures.  I am still doing it but I know better.  I took  a very basic photography class on how to shoot that perfect picture without really trying.  Yes, also I took another class Canon was offering when we were in Yosemite last year.  So with all that knowledge - I am still an amateur.  One day I will get there.

I was trying to figure out what to do with this blog - in the beginning I wanted to log in on all the stuff for the girls - it was heaven sent because I had a great time with them.  Now they are both entering soon to be "tween" and they don't want me to follow them anymore and yes, they want to be alone.  So my big debate, should I shut it down because I am on Facebook most of the time or just keep going with this blog but writing about something else.  The big problem is what is this something else???  That is where I am going.  So I am going to think this over and come back with my decision soon.

She is growing up too fast

Well, last week we went to the eye doctor's office and pick up her new glasses.  These are the glasses she want because she is currently reading book 6 of the Harry Potter's series.  When we were in the office, I could not get her to try on any other frames - she was so determine on this "Harry Potter" glasses.  So without much ado - my nerdie girl - new glasses, new braces and new haircut.

Yesterday I took the girls for their school clothes shopping.  What a big mistake but at least I am done!!  Yeah, I can actually say I am so done with all school shopping.

We went to 3 shops - Gap, Justice and Children's Place.  In each of these stores, both of them just went their separate way and came back with piles of the clothes they want to buy.  Being the Mom, I had to say "no" to this and that.  They both have a firm idea what they want and luckily Justice had a 40% off on all items. 

So after 2 hours and Mom just keeping her cool, we were done with clothes shopping.  I don't want to go near anymore shops with these two unless all their clothes have holes in them.

I told their Dad he is so lucky he doesn't have to take them - they are both so much into "tween" clothes and they are happy with what they bought.

Recently I have found out I cannot upload my picture(s).  So I have sent a trouble ticket to the wonderful people at Typepad.  They advised me on what I needed to do  - I had updated to Internet explorer 9 and I put in the adjustment.  So here is my first attempt to upload again.

Our annual and this will be our tradition thingie - right after school we head for Yosemite. We have done this 2 years in a roll. Guess what, the tradition got cut partly this year. Hubby couldn't get any campsite for Yosemite this year. But hey he said we are not breaking tradition so we went to Big Basin (near Santa Cruz). This place is nice and quiet. The shower facility is so close by. The girls love it and I told hubby this would be a nice place to go camping each year. There was only one thing bad about this place - mosquitoes were all in full force. We had to leave a day early because they kept eating us alive. Between the 4 of us, we had over 50 bites. Hubby was the worst - probably his blood was sweeter because of his diabetes. Hopefully next year we can go back to Yosemite.

busy summer

Have a ever have a summer where you just don't want to do anything? Well that's me this summer but my family isn't on the waveline as me. For example, last Monday was 4th of July. Yes, you would think you just wanted to stay home and have a bbq. Nope, my family was invited to a friend's house for bbq and we were there for over 8 hrs. Yes, I was ready to fall into bed when I got home.

This week the girls are at UCI for their writing/math classes. I would think I have all the time while they are at the camp - wrong, I have been running around all over the places.

I am planning to do absolutely nothing for next summer - not!

May

I love the month of May - first my birthday is in the month of May and then Mother's Day is in the month of May. The best is - my Mom and I came to America in the month of May. So this month has been really great!!!

Happy Birthday

Just had to share with you - my birthday for some reason my family forgets. This started with my Mom. Yes, this woman who gave birth to me thinks (I really mean thinks) my birthday is 5/5/. No Mom you show me my birth certificate and clearly states 5/4/. Well yesterday was my birthday - yeah.

As I was expecting some cheering and wishing - nope - nothing. So I play along and turn on my computer. Low and behold all my Facebook friends start wishing me "happy birthday". So I casually said "Wow, I am getting a lot of Happy Birthday wishes". Yipes, I hear a silence in the room. J started saying - Mom I don't know your birthday or Dad's. I only know Kacie and mine. Oh by the way, Happy Birthday Mom!! K then spokeup - I know your birthday is the 4th but today is the 3rd. By this time J is screaming at her and said today is the 4th. Was K embarrassed, yes, because she too forgot my birthday. But she too told me Happy Birthday!!

Well later in the afternoon, hubby had called to check on K's pre-algebra quiz. Either J or K ask if he remember Mom's birthday - long silence. J scream and said Dad forgot Mom's birthday!!! To make this story short, I was treated to Kalbi and a wonderful dinner at home.

Too high tech for me

This was brought on I was reading one of my favorite blogger (yes Johnny) and how he assisted an elderly woman with the banking.  This reminded me about something that happened a couple of weeks ago.  I work for a small non-profit organization.  I love this job because I don't have to report to anyone and my hours are really flexible.  And the most important part, I love this job.  Okay I am digressing here.  I was reconciling the bank statement.  I encountered two checks that I have already been cashed a couple of months ago.  So I started investigating.  Luckily this bank provide me with copy of the actual checks that was cashed.  Low and behold - the bank have cashed these checks twice.  I am sure of this.  So I had our secretary called the bank - I am not authorized on the bank record to call .  Well the answer I got was not correct because the person helping the secretary said the checks were cashed only once.  No, no I have proof the checks were cashed twice.  We (the secretary and I) made an appointment to meet someone in the bank and find out what is going on.  

Well, after checking and someone in Customer service after waiting for over an hour, they told us they will email us when they research more behind the scene.  To make a long story short, the new technology here in our state is you can now deposit the check with a copy of the live check at an ATM machine.  After you do that you should write the word "deposited".   Well the person who did this was in a hurry (and too long a story to write) did not and redeposit the live check in person.  The bank both accepted the two transactions. 

So the bank to correct this had to take the money away from the person who deposit the check twice.  To make a point, this is scary where you don't need to be in person to do this but through high tech can do almost all the things with a scanner and ATM machine.  Scary!!!
